Two months after revealing a strategy to turn over the Ford Idaho Facility to the University of Western Idaho, Nampa city officials are placing the brakes on the process.
City Council members don’t appear to have any kind of consensus concerning what to do with the local occasions facility. At a meeting today, council participants couldn’t concur about taking into consideration a sale of the center or obtaining the residential or commercial property assessed, Haadiya Tariq of the Idaho Press reported Wednesday.
City and CWI officials have considered a no-cash transfer of the facility complicated — that includes an indoor field, an outdoor concert amphitheater and a horse park and occasions facility.
CWI says the acquisition would give the college 100 acres of home that bisect the Nampa campus, and give the university with a multi-purpose facility comparable to those on other Idaho universities. Yet the purchase is not without cost. City authorities have said the center will require $ 20 million to $ 25 million in upkeep over the next 15 years. CWI hasn’t officially acted on a transfer– and Nampa city officials will need to make the first move. City officials are thinking about the transfer, yet they haven’t eliminated selling the center or hanging onto the home, Tariq reported.
